A line of Type 1, straight-sided, cotton-reinforced abrasive grinding wheels is available from Rex-Cut Products Inc. to deburr and finish new and reconditioned turbine blades without changing part geometry. Available in either soft or hard bonds, the wheels are made of nonwoven cotton fabric and abrasives that are laminated, pressed, and bonded into precise sizes to within ±0.005 in. They can reach into corners where the leading edge meets the blade root.
