A pressure sensor in a surface-mount configuration has been produced by SenSym, Inc. (www.sensym.com) Based on a reliable integrated circuit sensing element, the SX-SMT and SCC-SMT series are designed for measuring absolute and gauge pressures for five pressure ranges from 0-1 psi through 0-300 psi. Applications include altimeters, barometers, and tire pressures. Sensors that are optimized for either constant current or voltage excitation are available. Typical accuracies are 0.1% FSO. Operating temperatures range from -40°to +125 °C. Two package options are available: a standard surface-mount with a ceramic lid for ambient sensing applications and an optional ported lid for connection with flexible tubing or for manifolding.
