Cockpit door material
A ballistics-tested and flammability-qualified hardened material from Telair International is intended for aircraft cockpit door and other cabin surface security applications. The material successfully passed the National Institute of Justice level IIIA threat test and met the FAA FAR flammability requirements in October 2001. The lightweight, bulletproof material is a multi-layer composite using a unique construction of Kevlar, Nomex, and Phenolic materials for exceptional weight-to-strength performance, blast resistance, and both ballistics and blunt force resilience.
Solid-state relays
The FR75-1 and LPD60 solid-state relays from Teledyne Relays are designed for military and aviation applications. The FR75-1, which handles currents of 1.0 A and maximum voltages of 60 V dc, is designed to prevent damage to system components, assemblies, and system wiring. It comes in a metal, four-pin mini-DIP package that weighs 0.07 oz. The dual-output LPD60, which handles currents of 250 mA and maximum voltages of 60 V dc, uses optical isolation to provide excellent input-to-output isolation with very low EMI. It comes in a miniature 8-pin single inline package that weighs 0.07 oz.
Digital-to-analog converter
The 8143RP from Maxwell Technologies, Inc. is a 12-bit serial-input daisy-chain CMOS digital-to-analog converter that features serial data input, buffered serial data output, and a greater than 50 krad (Si) total dose tolerance, depending on the space mission in which it is used. The unit also minimizes address decoding lines, enabling more simple logic interfacing, and allows a three-wire interface for any number of DACs: one data line, one CLK line, and one load line.
Passenger entertainment
TEAC's digital audio (AE-1600SS) and video reproducers (VE -801SS and VE-801HD) store and automatically replay digital content for passenger entertainment systems. The systems are form-and-fit replacements for existing audio and tape-based video reproducer units. They connect seamlessly to existing audio and video systems without aircraft modifications. Both units provide background loading that automatically updates music and video libraries.
Ultra-flat gearing
The CSD series of ultra-flat gearing components from HD Systems has an axial length that is reduced by 50% vs. the CSF series. The design is achieved via the "S" tooth profile. It allows the surrounding enclosure to be made compact for additional size and weight savings.
Vibration sensor
The Columbia Model 8064-M10 accelerometer is designed to perform and survive within the harsh environments associated with military and commercial helicopters and aircraft. The isolated piezoelectric seismic system is coupled with an integrated constant-current model signal-conditioning electronics package. This design combination delivers a nominal vibration sensitivity of 25 mV/g, with a measurement frequency range from 2 Hz to 3 kHz and an output of less than 100 ohm.
