Brushless motors

Size 40 brushless motors from Transicoil have integral drive electronics and EMI immunity. The motors provide the advantages of brushless design and high performance for electronics-sensitive locations. Applications include radar, missile control, and aircraft HVAC systems.

Acrylic sheet

CYRO Industries' ACRYLITE AR acrylic sheet provides abrasion and chemical resistance, high impact strength, superior optical clarity, and light weight for instrumentation applications. The sheet is half the weight of glass and provides 20 times the mar resistance of an uncoated sheet. Its optical clarity ensures clear and accurate instrument readings, and it is easily cleaned using standard glass cleaner.

Synchronous dynamic RAM

Space Electronics' 97SD10004RP is a one Gigabit, synchronous, high-data-rate dynamic RAM module. Hermetically sealed in a compact package using stacked, thin small outline packages, the device allows precise cycle control via system clock I/O transactions. Its range of operating frequencies, programmable burst length, and programmable latencies permit it to operate in a variety of high-bandwidth, high-performance memory system applications for space.

Ball screw machining

Leistritz has developed a ball screw machining process that combines precision follower rests, an economical resharpenable tool system, and a high-speed whirling head in a CNC machine tool. With bed lengths up to 8 m, ball screws can be whirled to finish tolerances in a single pass in full material. By clamping the finished outer diameter in carbide "V" jaws, the follower rests on either side of the cut to guarantee near-zero thread concentricity.

Fire detection feedthru

Fire detection components from Alberox can handle extreme conditions while remaining specialized for individual tasks. Fire detection feedthrus are made from various metal components and high-purity alumina (Al₂ O₃) ceramic. These corrosion-resistant materials and the manufacturing processes yield stable hermiticity in severe environments. Thermal cycling tests are performed from -55 to +1000°F as well as for extended periods at elevated temperatures up to 1000°F.

Servo motion control

Animatics has added multi-axis contouring capability to its SmartMotors. The SmartMotor is a single component that combines the functions of servo motor, controller, amplifier, encoder, and PLC. CAD and G-Code host interfaces can turn a laptop computer and three SmartMotors into a complete three-axis CNC control system without a NEMA cabinet.
