Dataloader switch

A new dataloader switch module from Janco Corp. enables flight data to be downloaded to any number of instruments and systems in the cockpit without removing the instrument or its database. Applications for the switch module include the downloading of navigational data and flight-path information to the aircraft's GPS and other navigational systems. The switch is available in various custom configurations, with up to 30 positions, as a plug-in module (as shown in photo) or as a stand-alone unit with flying leads

High-frequency shock system

Unholtz-Dickie Corp.'s high-frequency, high-SRS vibration test system, the SAII80-S092-MXA, is used to test small- to medium-sized payloads at accelerations levels up to 5000 g SRS and at frequencies to 10 kHz as well as extremely high halfsine shock pulses up to 1200 g. A stiff alloy is used for the ribbed table to allow for resonance to 4600 Hz bare table. Use of a lightweight aluminum coil prevents resonant frequency drop as severe as would be the case with a copper coil.

Ground power support

The Recto-dyne Model R-400 from Christie is a 3-phase, 28-V dc rectifier that delivers ease of use, rugged operation, and good reliability. The unit features high currents for accurate turbine spooling and regulated dc power for avionics and lighting systems servicing. It features 50/60-Hz, 208, 230, 380, or 460-V input power applied through a manually adjustable selector.

Motion feedback card

The newest motion feedback card from Data Device Corp., the SB-36410IX, is an eight-channel synchro/resolver-to-digital COTS PMC card that provides a low-cost system that can be parallel-mounted onto a host VME or compact PCI carrier. The flexible solution offers a range of military and industrial applications.

Coating System

ASB Industries' Cold Gas Dynamic Spray eliminates the use of high temperatures; materials are not melted in the coating process. This eliminates phase changes or the formation of oxides and results in a pure and dense coating layer. The system can be used for various powder coating materials, including aluminum, aluminum composites, copper, supper alloys, silver, and titanium to many metallic and nonmetallic substrates.

CNC controls

The 10/Series OSAI Controllers from OSAI-USA offer high performance for a range of CNC machines, from a single spindle and three axes to 20 processes and 32 axes. The controllers can achieve a 1-ms block processing speed with five-axis interpolation and 164-block look-ahead. The system includes standard PC architecture, Windows compatibility, a library for personalized graphics and program management, a standard Interbus interface, and a high-speed Ethernet data link.

Grinding system

The Setco Spark Erosion Grinding System Model 1500 uses EDM technology to arc-grind metal parts to finished size and shape, precisely removing metal stock using ac current. The system includes a precision 3600-rpm, high-amp spindle; a cart-mounted EDM power-pack system; ac input; drive and electrical arc power cables; and six-electrode wheels. The system is suitale for machining burr-free honeycomb seals and rings for aircraft engines.
