System development platform

Tracewell Systems' T-Frame for CompactPCI is a highly configurable 8-slot development system that cuts engineering time for cPCI-based electronic products. The device functions as a general-purpose development platform for board-level, software, and production test. It features an open-frame design for direct access to installed boards and built-in measurement of backplane voltages, current, and exhaust air temperature.

Sensor film

Super Pressurex from Sensor Products Inc. is a tactile force indicating sensor film useful in assessing compression magnitude and distribution between any two mating or impacting surfaces with greater resolution than standard indicating films. The film aids in sandwich structure production by monitoring force levels that the composite part sees, helps to determine platen parallelism and uniformity during lamination processes, supplies specific vacuum bagging pressure, and provides roller nip impressions during the manufacture of prepreg tapes. The product is 50% more accurate than the preceding version.

Battery charger/analyzer

Christie's Universal 60 is a battery charger/analyzer that offers professional, in-house battery maintenance for vented NiCd and vented/sealed lead-acid aircraft batteries. Features include digital voltmeters, temperature protection, and single-cell charging capability. It also provides self-calibration without disassembly and the flexibility to handle any battery chemistry.

Mounting tracks

PCD Inc.'s M81714 Series II high-density avionic terminal junction module family includes a series of ultra-lightweight composite mounting tracks as well as a line of /62 type modules that incorporate electronic components as part of the basic interconnect circuitry. The SJTC mounting track, made of glass-filled polyetherimide, was chosen for its combination of high strength, light weight, chemical resistance, and dimensional stability. It is 45% lighter than the aluminum track and 10% lighter than most other composite M81714 Series II track available.

Foil resistor

Wilbrecht Electronics' Metal Foil Resistor, Type MAQ, features two-wire lead construction for increased stability against vibration and reduced mechanical stress from external forces and pulsation. It incorporates a high-purity, alumina ceramic substrate and proprietary Ni-Cr alloy foil system for an ultra-low thermal coefficient of resistance.

Aircraft power supply

The MPS28-100 from Io Ltd. is a power supply designed to meet the requirements of military standards for aircraft use. Input supply is 115 V ac at 400 Hz within the limits specified by MIL-STD-704E, and the output will deliver up to 100 W continuous at 28 V dc to supply equipment specified for operation to the same standard. Construction is based on an aluminum alloy extrusion (three sides and flanges) with a two-part cover for the base and ends. The output is electrically isolated both from the input and chassis. It has a typical power factor of 0.9, and input to output efficiency exceeds 80% at full power. Output voltage tolerance is 2%; ambient temperature range is -30 to +55°C.
