Infrared line heaters

The Model 5194 infrared heater series from Research, Inc. offers the capability to concentrate radiant heat to areas for applications that require a clean, responsive, noncontact heat source. It generates highly concentrated, radiant energy along a line from 0.08 to 0.18 in. It is available in lengths from 2.25 to 38.0 in, and can heat products to 2400°F. Heat flux densities up to 678 W/in can be achieved operating at the lamp's rated voltage. The quartz halogen lamp heats up and cools down instantly as voltage is varied, and an extruded aluminum construction combined with water- and air-cooling allows the heater to withstand continuous high-temperature operation. Typical applications include soldering, unsoldering, forming plastic, curing epoxy, and annealing.
