Software helps reduce number of design cycles

DaimlerChrysler Aerospace AG has developed the LAGRANGE optimization package for increasing integration of different aircraft engineering disciplines in a multidisciplinary optimization environment. It is implemented into the engineering process in a way that allows easy data transfer between design software (CATIA), analysis model generation, and results post-processing (I-DEAS) and exchange of structural analysis models (NASTRAN). (To be exhibited at the SAE World Aviation Congress & Exposition, San Francisco, CA, Oct. 19-21.)
