The OASys radar airborne obstacle awareness radar system from Amphitech International alerts helicopter pilots to unseen obstacles such as aircraft, towers, terrain, and power lines, even in conditions of mist, fog, smoke, and light rain. Designed specifically for helicopters, OASys is based on innovative 35-GHz radar technology using proprietary, state-of-the-art components. The system can detect power lines 2 km away in foggy conditions where visibility has been reduced to 125 m, and also detects stationary and moving obstacles, and hilly terrain. Additional features include a takeoff and landing guiding system, digital signal, audible tone and visual warning signals, and a dual-axis gyro-stabilized system.
