Stowage bin actuators
Gas spring replacement (GSR) actuators from Enidine Inc. provide a lightweight, maintenance-free alternative to standard gas springs for commercial aircraft stowage bins. The GSRs are engineered to ensure smooth, consistent performance over the life of an aircraft, exceeding 250,000 cycles in approved applications. They offer up to 50% weight savings and increased payload, resulting in significant fuel savings over the aircraft's life.
Linear accelerometers
The Columbia Model SA-102MFTA and its compact tri-axial version SA-302MFTA are precision miniature force balance accelerometers designed to operate from +24 to +32 V dc aircraft power. The high-level output signal and inherent self-regulation qualities of the servo loop design make this unit a suitable candidate for airborne telemetry applications.
Programmable dc source
The GX1838 from Geotest-Marvin Test Systems, Inc. is a 3U PXI multi-channel programmable dc source providing test engineers in avionics testing and other ATE applications with multiple discrete outputs. The unit provides eight output channels and three programmable 14-bit voltage rails. Each voltage rail can be programmed to output between -9 and +32 V and can provide current of 100 mA. The rails can also be connected to an external input, and rail C can be connected to an onboard programmable electronic load.
Dual-output relay
The Series LPBD100 relay from Teledyne Relays is a normally closed, dual, solid-state relay for the aerospace market. The unit is designed for interface applications, aircraft flight control systems, automated test equipment, and 28-V dc aircraft instrumentation systems. The 250-mA, 100-V dc device contains two independent relays, completely isolated from each other, that can be used as two SPST, NC relays or as a DPST, NC relay.
Digital recorder
KineticSystems Co.'s DAQ 800 Series compact digital recorder integrates field-connectable sensor termination, analog data acquisition, and high-performance sigma-delta analog-digital conversion (ADC) into a single high-speed, wide band instrumentation data recorder. The units are available in either 32- or 48-channel configurations. Each channel features independent 16-bit ADC resolution with programmable gain and is capable of up to 200,000 samples/s. Data are transferred via a noise-resistant fiber optic cable to a host PC; no external signal conditioning is required.
Measurement instrument
Yokogawa Corp.'s DL750 ScopeCorder combines recorder-like measurement capabilities with digital storage oscilloscope triggering and analysis. It offers improved waveform analysis and optional user-defined math functions for complex calculations. Using the 16-bit logic inputs, users can correlate digital and analog events and trigger off logic signals. The unit comes standard with 2.5 M words/channel, with up to 50 M words/channel possible with optional memory. By interleaving memory and using fewer channels, 1 G word of data can be displayed on the screen at a time.
Inertial navigation
The MIGITS (MEMS Integrated GPS/INS Inertial Tactical System) family of products from BEI Systron Donner Inertial meets many applications requiring guidance, navigation, and control. The miniature system is suited for applications including target and drones, unmanned vehicles, tactical missiles, smart bombs, range instrumentation, commercial aviation, railroads, and helicopters. The heart of the system is a small quartz MEMS inertial sensor cluster.
