Spot-curing UV lamps

A Spot Light Source Selector Guide from Dymax Corp. features UV light curing equipment for bonding a variety of applications. The lamps are non-ozone producing and offer flexible, quick connect light guides, foot and automatic controlled shutters, hour meters, light monitors, and long bulb life.

Torque sensors

Series 4104 high-speed rotary transformer torque sensors from the Force/Torque Div. of PCB Piezotronics are suited for high-speed gearbox testing for military aircraft, high-speed fuel pump testing for turbine engines, testing of emergency deployable hydraulic pumps, and hydraulic motor testing. The sensors have capacities to 2000 lb•in., 0.07% static error band, and rotational speed capability of 32,000 rpm with air-oil-mist bearing lubrication.

Machine-vision sensor

In-Sight 1000C from Cognex is a self-contained machine-vision sensor for verifying and sorting parts based on their color. The unit has built-in Ethernet communications and is designed to perform a range of color inspection tasks such as checking the color of heat-treatment marks on engine blocks or verifying the presence of colored wires and components on printed circuit boards.

GPIB counter/timer

Racal Instruments' Model 2201 GPIB counter/timer is a 225 MHz universal device that incorporates a temperature-controlled crystal oscillator for stability of one part per million. The unit is suited for laboratory and test system applications. It comes with a standard, high-accuracy TCXO, VXIplug&play style install disk, and labVIEW/LabWindows CVI drivers, enabling quick and easy installation.

Power-off clutch

The XT Xtreme Torque power-off clutches are about 1/3 the size of a conventional power-off clutch or brake and employ a special friction material that consistently exhibits coefficients of friction between 0.75 and 0.95. The Model XT-39C is a power-off or failsafe clutch that is only 2.59 in. high with a diameter of 3.4 in., yet offers a holding torque of 100 lb•in.

Connector shields

Conductive foam connector shields from Laird Technologies provide X-, Y-, and Z-axis conductivity, thus enhancing EMI shielding effectiveness and grounding required by the increasing speeds of computer equipment. The shields combine the conductivity of metal gaskets with the low compression characteristics of fabric-over-foam gaskets.

Time indicator

The DDS1000 solid-state elapsed time indicator from L-3 Communications/ Electrodynamics, Inc., which has been qualified to MIL-M-7793/13, features nonvolatile memory. All connections are made via printed wiring board, and the output is brought to a data collection point for system reading or to a single dedicated connector. Elapsed time is read from the M7793/13-1 meter by mating the printed wiring board connections with the M7793/12-1 reader's connector and operating the reader. Other options available include an event counter and RS232/TTL output. Time range is 99,999.99 h. The device measures 1.1 in. long, 0.45 in. wide, and 0.275 in. high. It weighs less than 0.2 oz.
