Fluorosilicone sponge rubber gaskets in thicknesses of 0.032, 0.062, and 0.125 in. from Stockwell Rubber Co. are designed to seal out dust and moisture in applications where harsh fluids such as coolants, fuels, and oil may be present. Aerospace systems requiring thin access panel gaskets exposed to outdoor elements, then exposed to de-icing or spilled fluids have benefited from the use of this material. Other applications include avionics and industrial controls.
