Avidyne Corp.'s AvroTec FlightMonitor FMP 300 software has received a Supplemental Type Certificate in the new Lancair Columbia 300 aircraft. The software features a large-screen version of the company's FlightMax Situation Display operating software, including comprehensive vector-graphic moving maps, digitized IFR and VFR charts, and an interface to the remote-mounted BFGoodrich Stormscope WX-500 sensor for lightning detection. The 10.4-in diagonal display hardware, manufactured by AvroTec, Inc., features a super-bright sunlight-readable VGA display with a 130° horizontal viewing angle. The system also includes an intuitive control unit integrated within the Lancair Columbia 300 center armrest.
