In-flight DVD system - IEC International Product Showcase Solid-state vertical gyro Major design improvements at all levels allow the DMU-HDX high-performance solid-state vertical gyro, manufactured by Crossbow Technology, Inc., to achieve higher performance levels. High-stability accelerometers and rate gyros coupled with sophisticated alignment and temperature calibration methods yield a 3:1 improvement in measurement performance. The gyros incorporate a dual digital signal processor architecture, which provides extra power for faster data update rates. The use of sophisticated Kalman filter-based algorithms virtually eliminates drift errors associated with standard vertical erection systems.
