Surface-enhancement coating

NEDOX, a proprietary surface-enhancement coating technology developed by General Magnaplate Corp., provides an extremely thin coating that permanently dry-lubricates the surface to a coefficient of friction as low as 0.06 while providing a hardness of up to Rc68. When applied to the International Space Station's quick disconnect couplings, the coating eliminated wear, leaks, and contamination. Because of NEDOX's extremely low friction characteristics, the treated surfaces also exhibit greater release properties that eliminate the need to use silicones or other sprays or additives on all types of molds and dies.
