Software with datalink capability

Avidyne's FlightMax 850, 740, and 440 Flight Situation Display systems will display Echo Flight datalink weather information when interfaced with Echo Flight's satellite datalink transceiver. The datalink services will include NexRad images, storm-cell vectors, METARS, icing, turbulence, satellite imagery, position reports, and e-mail. With this system, the additional safety benefits of datalink weather are available for aircraft with or without onboard weather radar. The datalink capability provides the strategic data needed for long-range planning and complements the tactical capabilities of airborne weather radar and lightning sensors, resulting in an additional level of situation awareness and safety.
