Optimizing fuel-system design
A successful engineer must be clearly aware that making the right design decisions in the conceptual phase of a project is vital to its success. According to researchers at Saab Aerospace and Linköping University, to correct an error in late design or during the production phase can be 100 times more expensive than in the planning phase. The researchers used the theory of optimization to facilitate the design of a fuel system.
