Piaggio in new partnership
-
Piaggio is to become a partner in the Rolls-Royce Turbomeca RTM322 engine family. Piaggio, based in Genoa, Italy, is a long-established manufacturer of aircraft and aero engines. It is joining Rolls, Turbomeca, and BMW Rolls-Royce in a partnership to develop, produce, and support the RTM322 engine range designed for medium-sized helicopters in a variety of roles. Three variants of the RTM322 are now in production for versions of the EH101 Merlin and WAH-64 Apache helicopters. It is a candidate for the NH90 helicopter in RTM322-01/9 form with particular applications to "hot and high" conditions. The twin-spool engine has full authority digital engine control.
