New prop receives German certification

A new electric constant speed propeller was certified in Germany for use on Cessna 172-R/-S aircraft.
A new electric, constant-speed, 3-blade propeller from MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH has received LBA certification per STC for the Cessna 172-R/-S aircraft models. This certification allows for the use of an alternative low-noise propeller that complies with Chapter X of the latest German noise rules per LSL of 01.01.1991, with an additional Gomolzig exhaust muffler. The 172-R rates at 7.8 dB(A) and the 172-S at 8.6 dB(A) below the low noise limits in Germany. Both aircraft also comply with the requirements of unrestricted flying on weekends and holidays. The new propeller offers an improved takeoff climb performance and smooth operation.
