-
Korea Aerospace Industries awarded Argo-Tech Corp. a contract for the KTX-2 airframe fuel system bundle.

Argo-Tech Corp., a Cleveland, OH-based designer and producer of aircraft engine fuel systems, was awarded a contract to produce airframe fuel system bundles for the KTX-2 aircraft. The aircraft, currently being developed by Korea Aerospace Industries in partnership with Lockheed Martin, is a light attack fighter/trainer with a total estimated market of more than 800 ship sets. The Republic of Korea Air Force currently has orders for 94 aircraft.
The bundle consists of 14 separate components in the airframe fuel system. Approximately 25% of the components for the KTX-2 will be manufactured by Argo-Tech's facilities in Cleveland, and the balance will be produced at the company's facility in Costa Mesa, CA.
According to Michael Lipscomb, Argo-Tech's Chairman, CEO, and President, the KTX-2 award recognizes the company's state-of-the-art development, manufacturing, testing equipment, and extensive experience with fuel systems. The company produces fuel systems and components for many military and commercial aircraft. Such systems and components include main engine fuel pumps, fuel boost and transfer pumps, fueldraulic actuator pumps and gear motors, fuel flow proportioners, fuel level controls, fuel regulators, separators, valves, refueling caps, and shut-off valves. The company also supplies advanced aerial refueling systems and products including pumps, flow and pressure regulators, couplings, nozzles, and hoses.
