Global Concepts (Part 2)
Nissan Cypact

Nissan designed the Cypact to meet the magic "three-liter" fuel-consumption goal (i.e., less than 3 L of fuel consumed for a 100-km trip). In three-liter car specifications, the Cypact is powered by a new all-alloy, turbocharged, inline four-cylinder engine with common-rail direct injection, presumably of about 1-L displacement (no exact number was announced). It delivers 55 kW (70 hp) at 4200 rpm and 160 Nom (118 lboft) at 2000 rpm and drives the front wheels via a manual five-speed transmission. There may be other powertrain permutations when the car goes into production.
