Mitsubishi's SSS

The SSS, Mitsubishi's sports sedan SUV, can carry two mountain bikes standing inside the car by folding the rear seat. Unusual features of the vehicle include four parallelogram-hinged doors to minimize the space needed to open them; a dual front bumper system (one lower than the other) to lessen the chance of the SSS nose-diving under an SUV in a rear-end collision; and a center console featuring a computer with mouse and a head-up display (HUD). The SSS showcases a new eight-step paint process, giving the car a milled-metal look. Powering the concept is a transversely mounted 3.5-L SOHC V6 engine. Its platform uses a four-wheel independent suspension and a full-time all-wheel-drive system with viscous coupling.
