Oldsmobile Recon

The design of the Recon is an evolution of current Oldsmo-bile products such as Aurora, Intrigue, and Alero, but takes their softer forms and sharpens them. Its unique shape emphasizes Oldsmobile design elements such as wheel-oriented shoulders, lower body side flutes, and horizontal headlamps. The vehicle's ASC-designed two-panel power sunroof extends over both front and rear passengers. All-wheel drive and Michelin extended mobility tires are a part of the package.

Inside the Recon, flat-panel displays are located front and rear for access to an information/entertainment (infotain-ment) system. Personal information can be loaded into the system via a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA). The instrument panel can be reconfigured using display windows similar to those of PCs. Other key features of the Recon interior include a rotary shifter and a totally keyless operation. The rear console is reconfigurable and features a flip-and-fold design. The seats, designed by Lear Corp., have no covering or padding and use a lightweight material that will not fade or scratch, and their thin profile provides more passenger and storage space.
