SS performance for Silverado concept
The lightest full-size pickup in the Chevrolet product line assumed a power-heavy role in its concept vehicle debut at the 2002 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas. The regular-cab Silverado SS sports a 6.0-L V8 that produces 395 hp (295 kW) at 5500 rpm and 409 lbft (555 Nm) at 4500 rpm, the engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission. "We may not use this powertrain. It may be another powertrain that we use. And it could be 12-18 months before we produce it, depending on whether the program is approved or not," said Ed Nagrant, Product Manager for Silverado.
