Karma catches on

While there was no shortage of environmentally responsible cars at this year's North American International Auto Show, the one that perhaps turned the most heads came from a somewhat unexpected source. Fisker Automotive, a joint venture between Fisker Coachbuild and Quantum Technologies, made a big splash at the show with its first production car, the Karma four-door plug-in hybrid premium sports sedan.

Astra comes to America

Saturn has completed the first phase of its revitalization efforts by bringing the European-designed Opel Astra into the U.S. The 2008 Astra will test the waters of the hatchback market, coming in three- and five-door models.
