Frankfurt debut for 911 Turbo

Making its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show was the new Porsche 911 Turbo, production of which starts next spring. With twin turbochargers, the 3.6-L engine develops 313 kW (420 hp) at 6000 rpm and 550 Nm (406 lbft) of torque at 2700 rpm. Performance figures include a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) dash in 4.2 s and a top speed of 304 km/h (189 mph). Suspension has been lowered and there are three large air scoops at the front of the car to boost cooling. Compared to the standard 911, the surface area of the radiators has been increased by 50%. At the rear, the car has a distinctive, retractable spoiler and a newly designed engine cover. The 911 Turbo has four-wheel drive and the Porsche Stability Management System.
