M-Class shows its metal

The new 2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class sport utility vehicle is lighter than its previous generation, despite being 150 mm (6 in) longer and 71 mm (2.8 in) wider and having a wheelbase that's been stretched by 95 mm (3.7 in) to 2915 mm (114.8 in). The new ML 350 is almost 200 lb (90 kg) lighter than the 2005 model, while the ML 500 trims about 130 lb (59 kg).
