Material combines plastic, ceramic properties

A high-temperature material called Micatherm HT combines the favorable electrical and physical properties of a technical ceramic with the manufacturing ease and accuracy of a thermoset plastics material. Morgan Matroc's material works constantly at temperatures to 450°C and can be molded with equal precision to that achieved by plastics injection methods. Thin wall sections can be formed and metal parts molded-in accurately during processing, and the long-term shape stability is excellent.
