Gasket coatings

Two new coatings from Eagle-Picher Automotive's Wolverine Gasket Div. have been added to its selection of coated metals for gasketing. HNBR- and fluoroelastomer-coated metals are used in applications such as head and intake manifold gaskets that are subjected to high temperatures. HNBR functions without degradation when exposed to temperatures that are about 15°C (27°F) higher than NBR can withstand; fluoroelastomer-coated metals can be used for diesel head gaskets or other high-temperature gasket applications that are about 75°C (135°F) higher than NBR can withstand.
