Data-acquisition system
DATAX is a measurement system solution from Data Translation, Inc. that provides signal conditioning and modular data-acquisition capability for the PC. The system is contained in a rugged DATAX box for easy modular connectivity, with a built-in USB data-acquisition function. It comes with Scope software that emulates three basic instruments: an oscillographic chart recorder, a data logger, and a multichannel oscilloscope.
PCI data-acquisition board

Tire surface pressure
A
sensor film from Sensor Pro-ducts Inc. reveals via color changes the stress
distribution and magnitude between any two surfaces that come in contact. The
intensity of the resultant color is quantifiable and enables precise determination
of pressure at any point on the contacting surfaces. Applications include tires,
gasketed and flanged interfaces, lamination presses, roller systems and heat
sealers, welding, and materials testing.
Density patch
Sheldahl's
Density Patch is an extension of the firm's flexible circuitry line that enables
lower-density circuits to be incorporated into larger assemblies at minimal
cost. Assembled to order for each customer, the device is a small, high-density
circuit populated on one of the firm's Novaflex flexible circuit materials.
This small, pretested assembly is attached to a lower-density polyester substrate
via a permanent lap solder connection, allowing the patch to piggyback on a
larger and less costly circuit.
Virtual instrument drivers
Engineers can use Interchangeable Virtual Instrument (IVI) Drivers for free from National Instruments. The Basic IVI Class Drivers are used with LabVIEW or Measurement Studio development environments. Users can write a program to control an instrument and then use that program with two different vendors' instruments without making software modifications.
S-beam load cells

Products' models 3135, 3136, and 3137 S-beam load cells consist of 10 capacities
ranging from 50 to 5000 kg (110 to 110,000 lb). Standard output is 2.0 mV/V
nominal with an overall accuracy of 0.05% when considering nonlinearity, hysteresis,
and repeatability. The sensors have a nominal bridge resistance of 350 ohms
and can be powered by up to 15 V ac or dc.
