Lamp driver provides control for airbag bulbs

The CS-1108 automotive single lamp driver (ASIC) from Cherry Semiconductor Corp. provides full control and power for type 194 bulbs used in airbag systems, or applications requiring 350 mA of current and fault reporting. In addition, the CS-1108 incorporates built-in diagnostics that detect either an open- or short-circuit condition in the lamp. The device is offered in an 8-lead, plastic, small outline package with internally fused leads. It provides sense detection and protection in over-current and over-temperature conditions.
