The ARS-20 angular rate sensor from ATA Sensors uses magnetohydrodynamic technology to measure angular motion frequencies down to a dc level — a capability previously available only with fiber-optic, quartz rate sensors or other gyroscopes. The units can measure a broad frequency response of 0-250 Hz while withstanding linear shocks over 1000 g (operating), and survive over 3000 g (peak, 100 Hz, half sine wave — nonoperating). They are insensitive to static g loads and offer a compact size, low mass, and low input power.
