Securus fiber from AlliedSignal Inc. is an automotive seatbelt material that can increase occupant safety and help reduce safety belt system costs. Seatbelt fabric made with the fiber slows and lessens a passenger's impact with an airbag during a collision. Securus fiber used in seatbelt webbing is a direct replacement for the mechanical force limiter found in the constant force retractors installed in some cars.
