Communiporting with Cadillac
-
One of the Cadillac Evoq's interior highlights is the Communiport system from Delphi Delco Electronics, which combines wireless communications, computing functions, onboard turn-by-turn navigation, and car audio with hands-free voice activation.

The Evoq roadster's interior was designed to allow drivers to keep their "hands on the wheel, eyes on the road." At the center of its interior console, two flat-panel screens display images captured by rear-vision cameras. The side-by-side screens on the console give a panoramic view of the scene behind the car. The car also has steering wheel controls and an EyeCue head-up displaythe first application of a fully reconfigurable head-up display that allows switching between in-dash computing and Night Vision systems.
The interior highlight is the Communiport system, a demonstration of wireless communications, computing functions, onboard turn-by-turn navigation, and car audio with hands-free voice activation and text-to-speech response provided by Delphi Delco Electronics. Using the Microsoft Windows CE operating system, the in-dash multimedia system features a flat-panel, reconfigurable color display and intuitive speech technology that listens and responds to driver commands. Its infrared data interface can share information with a personal data assistant (PDA) or computer to enable electronic mail to be sent and received, and realtime news bulletins, stock updates, and other critical business information to be downloaded.
The instrument cluster is a further development of the one used on the Seville STS, with cold-cathode tube technology and revised graphics. The Evoq's seats feature enhanced width, extra support for the shoulder and back, and a longer cushion for added thigh support.
