Style and Substance
Versatile (my) controlled by mouse

Mercury's (my) makes extensive use of machined elements and exposed framework.
The designers of the (my) Mercury gave the multi-activity vehicle attributes of car, truck, and sport-utility vehicle. The front doors of the five-door vehicle open in a conventional manner, while the rears open to the back, giving complete access to the interior. The top of the rear hatch opens upward, and the lower portion extends out—increasing usable cargo space.

Inside, (my) makes extensive use of machined elements and exposed framework. Four leather bucket seats are mounted on machined aluminum structural members that create open space underneath for increased leg room or storage space. The front center console features an amber-colored mouse-like ball that functions as the control for the radio, climate control, and global positioning systems, settings of which are displayed on a screen mounted in the center of the dash. Just above the screen are the tachometer, speedometer, and fuel gauge, which facilitates the manufacture of right-hand drive IPs.

Versatility is enhanced by rear bucket seats that fold down, and the floor of the cargo area extends over the back of the seats for a flat, expanded space. Coupled with the extended portion of the rear hatch, the relatively short (my) has over 1.8 m (6 ft) in the rear to haul gear.
