Pontiac Aztek uses Delphi display technology
-
The Pontiac Aztek has a console that slides from IP to the rear seats and Delphi instrument technology that changes from yellow in daytime to red at night.
|
Pontiac designers made the Aztek versatile and reconfigurable to suit many lifestyles. Its center console slides on a track between the front and rear seats to pass snacks and beverages to rear-seat passengers. When not in use, the console tucks up under the I/P for unobstructed floor space between the front seats and rear seat pass-through. With second-row seats in place, cargo volume is 990 L (35 ft3). The rear seats can either be flipped and folded or removed to increase cargo volume. "Grab-and-go" saddle bags stow out of the way in integrated front-door pockets.
The vehicle's instrumentation is supplied by Delphi Delco Electronic Systems and makes use of LED and dot-matrix display technology. The cluster of gauges is enclosed in a fully exposed, floating pod resembling the cluster of a motorcycle. The pod features Delphi Ultra-lite technology, which uses a thin sheet of acrylic to channel light to yellow primary display graphics for good daytime appearance. At night, the display takes on a 3-D look, the numbers becoming traditional Pontiac red against a dark background. The display behind the pod contains an interactive reconfigurable telltale (RTT) for real-time information about vehicle systems. The RTT can be adapted for display of commands and functions related to hands-free cellular communications, direct-broadcast information, turn-by-turn navigation, vehicle operation, and operator instructions.
