Oldsmobile says that its customers embrace technology and need a vehicle that enables them to quickly accomplish the many necessary tasks that present themselves each day. To address these needs, the Recon has front and rear flat-panel displays to provide information and entertainment (infotainment). Personal information can be loaded into the system by a PDA. The instrument panel can be reconfigured using several display "windows" for vehicle startup, status, climate, route, communication, and entertainment. All of these features can be accessed via buttons on the center console and adjusted with intuitive controls on the steering wheel developed by Delphi Automotive Systems.
Other key features of the interior include a rotary shifter and keyless operation. The seats, supplied by Lear Corp., use a lightweight foam material that does not fade or scratch and is hypo-allergenic. The material allows for a thin profile, which provides more passenger interior room and storage space. The lightweight polyurethane flooring is scratch resistant, deadens sound, is easy to clean, and can be made in many textures and colors.
