AWD grabs more traction
In North America, according to a J.D. Power-LMC Forecasting Service all-wheel-drive (AWD) report, more front-wheel-drive (FWD) vehicles will be fitted with four-wheel-drive technology by 2008. In Europe, the forecast is the reverse, as rear-wheel-drive (RWD) vehicles will grab a greater share of four-wheel-drive technology by 2008. In Japan and South Koreathe dominant Asian markets for AWD technologythe penetration of four-wheel drive is expected to decline by 2008.
