Cylinder deactivation for the Hemi
Several technologies are being developed to help reduce the fuel consumption of gasoline engines, perhaps none more talked about in recent years than cylinder deactivation. But Chrysler Group engineers purposely kept quiet about their plans to introduce the technology until it was close to production—the reason being that action speaks louder than words, said Burke Brown, Chief Engineer of the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Magnum vehicles.
