Tenneco's global emissions-control strategies
There may come a day when an engine can run without releasing anything but power, but that day is not today and it is not expected to be tomorrow. During the "2010 Engine/Emissions Challenges, Trends, and Directions" technical session at the 2005 SAE Commercial Vehicle Congress and Exhibition, made up of participants from Tenneco, Cummins, Ohio State University, Ricardo, and FEV, one of the challenges put forth by the academia representative included a call to industry to "re-think the plant."
