Ceratec L.L.C. is producing ball bearings and bearing races with advanced specifications and patents pending. Using titanium and carbon nitrite (TiCN), the company produces full-metal ceramic components up to 305 mm in diameter. They are approximately twice as hard as chrome steel with approximately 40% less weight. The materials offer high-heat resistance for dimensional stability at temperatures over 230 °C. Nonmagnetic and spark-proof, these bearings are noncorrosive, chemical-resistant, and act as electrical insulators.
